Participants learn biomedical and Chinese medicine diagnoses and treatment protocols for complications associated with menopause. Biomedical topics include the risks and benefits of bioidentical hormone therapy, phytoestrogen supplementation (e.g. soy products), and conventional hormone replacement therapy. Chinese medicine topics include acupuncture and herbal medicine for perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause. Two important acupuncture point prescription research papers are included.
